Artose Pinner (2,000 @ $4.00)Artose Pinner 2003 eTopps

For those of you already trying to think of your clever "Chris Berman" nickname for the man know as Artose, let me advise you that his name is pronounced, "ar-TUSE". Now on to more important things, like who the heck is this guy and does he deserve an eTopps card? Well, I can tell you that he is a good-sized runnig back at 5'10" and 229 lbs. Another positive for him is that he plays for the Lions, a team going nowhere and RBBC (running back by committee) = OPPORTUNITY! However, due to a broken fibula (during the Senior Bowl last January), we may not be seeing Pinner too soon. The good news about Pinner is that he is a powerful back, has great acceleration and hits the holes hard. The bad news is he suffers from fumblitis. Does this sound like anyone we know? Who knows? He could be the next Ahman. Don't Buy this card. Pick it up on eBay.

Clinton Portis (2,000 @ $6.50)Clinton Portis 2003 eTopps

Speaking of nicknames, Clinton is already acquiring a few of his own due to his early season injury bug. But somehow I don't think Clinton "Porcelain" will stick as he gets healthy and regains his status as a top three back. Portis has everything that it takes to be a great running back in the NFL, including speed, strength and agility. The one thing I think will work greatly in his favor is that he is not "over-muscled" like many of today's players (i.e. David Boston). This "hulking" of the human body seems to make players more apt to suffer from injuries, as their tendons cannot withstand their muscles. Portis seems to have all the tools necessary to be a star in the NFL for a long time. Luckily for us, he HAS to wear a team uniform when we watch him. Otherwise we'd be subjected to his flair for fashion for the color blind. Pick up his 2002 card instead. Don't Buy this card.

Drew Bledsoe (1,500 @ $6.50)Drew Bledsoe 2003 eTopps

Bledsoe is the leader of what should be one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL. However, due mainly to offensive line issues, the Bills' offense hasn't played up to its potential. Additionally, running back Travis Henry has gotten off to a slow start, despite his touchdown total. Some might say that Peerless Price's departure has had some effect on this team's penchant for the big touchdown. However, if you watched that Buffalo/Miami Sunday night game on ESPN a few weeks ago, you know that Drew just doesn't look right. I still say he has gas left in the tank but he isn't getting younger. With other guys around him not clicking, this could be a long year for him. With two previous cards, if you really want this card pick it up on eBay. Don't Buy.

Jason Taylor (2,000 @ $4.00)Jason Taylor 2003 eTopps

Being a Jets fan, writing about this guy ain't easy! However, it's hard not to acknowledge an athlete such as Jason Taylor. Taylor has great athletic ability which he displayed many times last year as he piled up a career high 18.5 sacks. He is the brother-in-law of teammate Zach Thomas and is recognized as one of the game's great defensive ends (and rightfully so). With the addition of Junior Seau, Taylor is poised for another superb year. However, the Dolphins' slow start is not a good sign for his team. They usually seem to fizzle in December but Christmas is coming early for Dolphins fans this year. Sure, he's a defensive player but he's one of the best. BUY this card.

Jeff Garcia (1,500 @ $4.00)Jeff Garcia 2003 eTopps

No one on the Niners' offense feels more frustrated than Jeff Garcia, however some of us show it a little differently (see: Terrell Owens). Garcia's team, predicted by most to be a shoe-in for the playoffs, is off to a miserable start, which was punctuated by the beating the hot Vikes gave them last weekend. Garcia has great weapons around him. He has at his disposal, arguably the best receiver in the game in Terrell Owens, and an emerging star complement in Tai Streets. Additionally, the team has two very good running backs in the two-headed attack of Hearst and Barlow. The irony in San Francisco is that the defense is finally playing halfway decent and now the offense is sputtering. Despite the slow start, if Garcia can remain healthy, I have to believe that he will be the top-notch quarterback that he has proven he can be for the past few years. Only time will tell. Just like Bledsoe he has two previous cards. Don't Buy this card.

Kyle Boller (4,000 @ $6.50)Kyle Boller 2003 eTopps

You may remember Boller as the guy who threw a football through the goalpost from the fifty yard line, from his knees. That film was shown during last year's NFL draft and means nothing as far as the Ravens are concerned. Quarterbacks get paid to throw touchdowns, not field goals! Considering Boller has only two touchdowns and six interceptions, he better start playing or he may be unseated by Chris Redman (doubtful, but you never know with Billick). Boller looks pretty good to me, but it's way too early to tell. Buy this card.

Seneca Wallace (2,000 @ $6.50)Seneca Wallace 2003 eTopps

Wallace played for Iowa State and doesn't possess great size at 5'11". This guy looks to me like he could be the next Woody Dantzler and that's not saying a whole lot for the guy. Plainly put, he threw 18 interceptions and 14 touchdowns. Sure, he threw for 3,000 yards but his interception-to-touchdown ratio says it all. This card is a rookie but I believe the stats speak for themselves. Don't Buy.

Troy Brown (1,000 @ $4.00)Trent Green 2003 eTopps

This guy catches a lot of passes. That's it. He plays for a team in turmoil, one that has been affected by injuries and management issues. Brown is not tall for a receiver, at 5'10", but he always seems to get open (a lot like Marvin Harrison… no, nothing like Harrison!). I have a feeling this guy's best days are behind him, and those days weren't that good. Once again we have a player that suffers from Two Previous Cards-itis. DON'T BUY this one... unless you want a nice cup coaster.
