Roberto Clemente (2,500 @ $12.50)

Where do I start with Clemente? This 12-time All-Star and 12-time Gold Glove winner was the first Hispanic inducted into Baseball's Hall of Fame. The list of accomplishments goes on and on. He was the N.L. MVP in 1966 and World Series MVP in 1971. He tallied exactly 3,000 hits, won 4 batting titles and is the Pirates all-time leader in a slew of offensive categories. He was also perhaps the greatest leader and humanitarian baseball has ever seen. His excellence both on- and off-the-field made him a National hero, especially to Latinos. The life and playing career of this great was tragically cut short in an airplane crash on December 31, 1972. He was attempting to deliver supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. As far as the card goes, grab one at IPO! There is a good chance this will be the first Classic sellout of 2003 and how can you go wrong with the only Clemente eTopps card?

Carlton Fisk (1,500 @ $12.50)

Carlton Fisk caps this final week of 2003 eTopps Classic baseball. Who can forget Fisk's defining moment in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series? Of course, even his heroics were unable to secure a championship for long-suffering Red Sox fans. Between the White Sox and the Red Sox, Fisk built a Hall of Fame career. He was named to 11 All-Star teams and caught a record 2,226 games. Mike Piazza is rapidly closing in on Pudge's record for most home runs (351) as a catcher, trailing by four as of the end of August. Despite all of these accomplishments, Fisk will still have a hard time selling out. That means overproduction due to misguided flippers and that means buy this great card on eBay after the dust settles!
